Amazon Is Going Nuclear

Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) is making a big bet that nuclear energy could be the future of powering their data centres, paying $650 million to acquire a Pennsylvania-based facility to expand their AWS cloud computing arm. The acquisition comes with 10 years of nuclear power supply for the site. The growing power requirements of data centres have contributed to the need for more nuclear energy infrastructure and the quest for new uranium deposits, including the formation of the largest land package in the prolific Athabasca Basin by ATHA Energy (TSXV:SASK).

A New Major Helium Gas Discovery In The United States

Pulsar Helium (TSXV:PLSR) has announced a new major discovery of helium gas at their Topaz helium project in Minnesota, considered to be one of the most significant recent successes in exploration for the scarce gas in the United States and temporarily alleviating concerns of supply depletion. Helium is a critical input for healthcare technology such as MRI machines, aerospace applications, and the manufacturing of semiconductors.

Bitdeer’s New Bitcoin Mining Chip

Bitdeer Technologies (NASDAQ:BTDR) announced they have successfully tested a new chip for Bitcoin mining rigs that could lower power consumption and increase overall efficiency. The SEAL01 chip will be an integral component of their new SEALMINER A1 Bitcoin mining machines, and will aim to reduce the power consumption and electricity costs of mining hardware as the Bitcoin halving nears.
