America’s First Offshore Wind Farm

Ørsted and electricity company Eversource (NYSE:ES) have collaborated to officially launch the first offshore wind farm in the United States. The project is 35 miles off the East coast of Long Island, New York, and is the first of several commercial scale wind farms that the government has approved. Ørsted’s technology makes it possible for offshore wind to generate electricity at cheaper costs than newly constructed fossil fuel power generation facilities.
