Australia Has Big Plans For Quantum Computing

The Australian government has announced an investment of $940 million (AUD) into quantum computing startup PsiQuantum. The new funding is aiming to accelerate the development of PsiQuantum building Brisbane’s first commercially viable quantum computer.

Talon Metals Is Finding More Domestic Nickel

Talon Metals (TSX:TLO) announced they have discovered more nickel at their flagship Tamarack nickel project after completing 14 new drill holes. Domestic nickel supply in the United States is relatively scarce, and new policies from the US Inflation Reduction Act highly incentivize electric vehicle manufacturers to source domestic nickel supply in order to qualify for available tax credits.

Imec.xpand, a venture fund spun out from one of the largest research institutions in the world focused on microelectronics, has raised €300 million to invest in startups focused on accelerating innovation in semiconductors. Semiconductors have become critically important to the boom in artificial intelligence computing power.
