Jeff Bezos Is Backing Lab Grown Meat

The Bezos Earth Fund has awarded a $30 million grant to North Carolina State University to accelerate research around cultivated meat and alternative protein production. Food giant Cargill has been announced as one of the companies who will collaborate with the new research at the university, which will happen from a new building on the campus known as The Bezos Centre For Sustainable Protein.

Microsoft’s Historic Carbon Credit Purchase

Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) announced a new agreement with carbon credit project developer Ponterra to purchase 1.6 million carbon removal credits, which represents one of the largest ever fully financed carbon credit removal projects in Central America. The project spans more than 10,000 hectares and removing approximately 3.2 million tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere throughout its lifespan.

Small module reactors for nuclear power generation have been experiencing a flurry of recent venture capital funding, public market listings and even government grants. SMRs are widely seen as one of the most promising ways to accelerate the transition to nuclear energy, generating carbon free electricity while also requiring significantly less infrastructure than large nuclear power plants.
