Sweden Looks To Lift Ban On Uranium Mining
Sweden has opened an official investigation into lifting their moratorium on uranium mining that has been in place since 2018, and announced that a decision will be made no later than May 15, 2024. Sweden holds approximately 25% of Europe’s known uranium deposits, and District Metals (TSXV:DMX) is the sole owner of Sweden’s Viken Deposit, which spans over 9,000 hectares and contains approximately 1 billion pounds of uranium according to historical resource estimates.
